2011 FOOTBALL CANADA CUP SKILLS COMPETITION RESULTS
The 2011 edition of the Football Canada Cup featured a skills competition on Sunday July 10th—the afternoon following Saturday’s opening round of games. The competition featured four events, showcasing the best under-18 Canadian talent who were nominated by their respective coaches. Each of the eight teams competing at the Canada Cup was able to nominate one competitor and an alternate to represent their team at each event. Participants were cheered on by their teammates and families as provincial bragging rights were on the line Sunday afternoon at the University of Lethbridge Community Stadium.
Event description and results
Event 1: Bench press competition of 225 lbs
Description: the winner will have the most number of reps at that weight.
Participants: Jacob Rigby (Nova Scotia), Michael Busse (Ontario East), Deion Bain (B.C.), Leon Cenerini (Manitoba), Zach Mallough (Ontario West), Ben Lysak (Alberta), Jérémy Jean (Québec), Matthew Knight (Saskatchewan).

Event 2: Throwing competition (longest throw)
Description: – Each thrower will be allowed three throws and they can either drop back or roll out and throw on the run if they cross the 55 yard line, the throw will not count
Participants: Robert Adams (Nova Scotia), Will Finch (Ontario West), Jared Andreychuk (Saskatchewa), Hugo Richard (Québec), Jordan Kuziek (B.C.), Duncan Lurie (Ontario East), Chas Moore (Manitoba), Matt Bonaca (Alberta).

2nd : Hugo Richard- Québec (3rd throw- 61 yards)
3rd : Matt Bonaca- Alberta (2nd throw- 59 yards)
Event 3: Place kicking competition
Description: The place kicking competition will be three tries, starting at 25 yards, one from the middle and from each hash mark. We will increase 5 yards at a time until we have only one competitor left. Once a competitor has missed all three attempts at one yardage, they will be eliminated. If they make one or two of three then they move to the next distance. If there is a tie, then the tie breaker is least number of misses in total.

Event 4: 40 yard dash
Description: There will be two heats of four, on the turf with the top two from each heat moving onto the final. The heats will take place at the beginning of the competition and the final will take place after all the other events are completed.
