2016 Football Canada Cup to be streamed live online from Winnipeg

Action begins on July 9 at IG Field

Watch eight teams from seven provinces compete at Canada’s premiere under-18 tackle football tournament, the 2016 Football Canada Cup, July 9-15 by visiting www.footballcanada.com on game day.

The tournament hosts under-18 provincial teams from Alberta, Saskatchewan, Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and two teams from host Manitoba from July 9 – 15 in Winnipeg. The first and final game days will take place at Investors Group Field while the action on Tuesday July 12 will take place at East Side Field.

Each team plays three full games in the weeklong tournament. The tournament’s two undefeated teams will battle for gold on Friday July 15 at 8 p.m. CT to close out the tournament.

The Canada Cup returns to Manitoba for the first time since 2006 and boasts a number of notable alumni including Israel Idonije, Andy Fantuz, Laurent Duvernay-Tardif, Tyler Crapigna, David Foucault, Tevaun Smith and Mehdi Abdesmad. Six of the last seven CIS Rookie of the Year Award winners – Mathieu Betts (2015); Hugo Richard (2014); Daniel Vandervoort (2013); Shaquille Johnson (2012); Tyler Varga (2011); and Linden Gaydosh (2009) – are also tournament alumni.
