Adam LaBrash is a wide receiver from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan who is representing Canada at the 2018 IFAF World Junior Championships in Mexico City, Mexico.

The offensive standout has been playing football for most of his life.

“Originally, I started playing soccer at the age of eight,” he recalled.  “It wasn’t enough contact for me.”

“I started watching the NFL, the CFL and I started playing flag football and I was really excited about that.   I started  off with flag football and played the sport ever since.

Among the teams LaBrash has suited up for include the flag football under-10 Panthers, both the peewee and bantam Titans of the Kinsman Football League (KFL) as well as the Walter Murray Marauders of the Saskatoon Secondary School Athletic Directorate (SSSAD).

Additionally, he played four years in the provincial football program – Team Saskatchewan Under-16 and represented the province at two Football Canada Cups in the under-18 program.

This past January, the receiver represented Canada as a member of the under-18 national team at the 2018 International Bowl in Arlington, Texas.

“The stadium itself, AT&T Stadium; you see it on TV occasionally when the Cowboys are playing,” he said of the experience.  “Obviously, you see all these big cities on TV  but actually being there and playing in person, that was something else.”

“The week leading up was amazing – just practicing at a high level.  It was amazing and I don’t know how to describe it; it was definitely the highlight of my career.”

During his career, LaBrash said there has been an off-field highlights for him such as taking road trips with his high school team.

Gearing up for this month’s IFAF World Junior Championships, LaBrash is looking forward to competing against the best of the best around the globe.

“I think it is going to be awesome,” he expressed.  “It’s going to be super cool.”

“We take pride in how we would like to represent ourselves internationally.  I think it’s going to be very cool to walk around with the team.  It’s going to be very cool to meet all the other teams from around the world.”
