Get to know U16 East All Star Team Defensive Back , Owen O’Neal!

Owen O’Neal is a defensive back from Sackville, New Brunswick who will compete at the 2018 International Bowl in Arlington, Texas as a member of the Under-16 Eastern Canadian Team.

The defensive standout got his first introduction to the sport in grade three as both his father and brother (also his role models) played the game.

O’Neal is part of the Tantramar Titans of the New Brunswick High School Football League (NBHSFL). During his career, he has won six championships.

This past summer, the defensive back played in the Under-16 Eastern Challenge along with Team New Brunswick.  When reflecting on the experience, O’Neal said it was “fun”.

When O’Neal learned the news that he made the national team, he was “super-excited” and is thrilled to be participating at the 2018 International Bowl.

“As soon as I heard of Team Canada, I worked very hard to get it so it means a lot,” he expressed.
