Help build a better Canadian game

by footballcanada

Dear football community,

During the calendar year of 2014, we will be undergoing an examination of the current competition structure of amateur football in Canada compared to the current Long-Term Athlete Development Model (view current model here). All areas of the current competition structure will be reviewed including but not limited to the competition calendar, rules, and development pathway. To continue to develop football in Canada it is important that as many people as possible provide feedback and that the feedback provided be constructive in nature.

How can you help?

During the 2014 football season, we will be asking for feedback in the form of surveys as well as emails. Feedback is essential from the football community at-large (athletes, coaches, officials, parents, administrators, trainers, etc) in an effort to grow and support this great game from coast-to-coast-to-coast.

Surveys

Have your voice heard in the process by completing the survey below that matches the age group and gender of athletes that you are involved with. Additional information regarding each stage is available by clicking on the specific stage’s title within the age group column.

Email us

The football community can also provide their feedback by emailing [email protected]. Below are some questions to help direct feedback – additional comments are welcomed.

  1. What is your view of the current competition structure?
  2. What is your view of the ideal competition structure given by the Long Term Athlete Development Model?
  3. What do you think are the differences between the current structure and the ideal structure?
  4. What changes, if any, do you believe need to be adopted to get closer to the LTAD model?
  5. How do you recommend implementing these changes?

Where can I find information?

All the information regarding opportunities for feedback as well as updates will be posted on Football Canada’s website at www.footballcanada.com. You can also follow Football Canada on Facebook (facebook.com/FootballCanada) or Twitter (@footballcanada) for updates throughout the process.
