Team Manitoba and Turf Tigers win gold medals on final day of competition

Saskatoon, SK – In the final day of the 2018 Senior Flag Nationals, it was the medal round in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.

Team Manitoba claimed the Men’s Division gold medal after pulling out a 16-13 victory over Team Canada.  Coming into this game, Team Canada was undefeated.  This was their first loss of the tournament.

As for the bronze medal game, the Blackshirts cruised to a 37-6 win over Goldminers.

In the fifth-place game held earlier Monday, Gamecocks defeated Team British Columbia 14-0.

Earlier in the day, Team Manitoba advanced to the gold medal game after defeating the Blackshirts 32-19.  Team Canada punched their ticket to the game after earning a 27-6 win over the Goldminers.

In the Women’s Division, the Turf Tigers earned a 21-0 shutout victory over the Cougars to grab the gold medal.  The Tigers ended the tournament on a perfect note as they were undefeated throughout the three days of play.

The Eclipse took the bronze medal as they upended the Wolfpack 39-6.
