Tentative schedule
In 2014, Scott MacAulay enters his second season as Regina Thunder bench boss, taking over from longtime head coach Erwin Klempner following the 2012 season.
MacAulay’s inaugural year as head coach culminated in dramatic fashion as the Thunder captured the Canadian Bowl on home soil with a 55-26 victory over the VI Raiders. The national championship marked Regina’s first since 1998 when they were known as the Rams.
Prior to taking over as head coach, MacAulay spent the previous three seasons as the Thunder’s linebacker coach and special teams coordinator. He has also held several other coaching positions over the last decade, including Defensive Coordinator of Team Saskatchewan for three seasons including the 2009 and 2010 National Championship teams.
As a player, MacAulay played for the Regina Rams, having won CJFL National Championships in 1997 and 1998. He then played for Danube Hammers in the German Division III League before returning to the Regina Thunder as a captain for our inaugural 2000 season. He is the first alumni of the Regina Thunder to take over as Head Coach.
