Saskatchewan Huskies DC to present at 2014 Football Canada Coaches Convention

Football Canada is proud to announce the addition of University of Saskatchewan Huskies’ defensive coordinator, Ed Carleton to its 2014 Coaches Convention taking place Friday July 11 in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Coach Carleton will present on defensive systems.

Ed Carleton grew up in Swift Current, Saskatchewan and later moved to Saskatoon to attend the University of Saskatchewan, playing five seasons for the football team before graduating in 1989.
Upon graduation, Ed began his coaching career at Evan Hardy Collegiate where he served as linebackers coach and defensive coordinator from 1990 to 1991 before joining the University of Saskatchewan in 1992 as defensive line coach. In 1996, he assumed his current coaching duties as Huskies defensive coordinator and linebackers coach.
Employed full-time with the government of Saskatchewan, Carleton is a level 4 NCCP Coach and a course conductor for level 1, 2 and 3, who also dedicates countless hours to delivering NCCP courses as well as running camps across the province. In his personal time he has also been a key contributor for the NCCP, writing material for Football Canada.
Coach Carleton’s accomplishments include leading the Huskies’ defense to 8 Canada West Conference Championships, and 2 Vanier Cup titles in 6 appearances.
In 2012, he was awarded the Gino Fracas Award presented by Football Canada to Canadian Interuniversity Sport’s Most Outstanding Assistant coach.
