FOOTBALL CANADA AND PLAYER’S HEALTH ANNOUNCE PARTNERSHIP TO PROVIDE RISK AND COMPLIANCE SOLUTIONS

New offering supports Football Canada with comprehensive services to reduce return to play risks and establish a new standard of health and safety in amateur sports.

Ottawa, July 3rd, 2019 – Football Canada, Player’s Health, and BFL CANADA, announced today a partnership to provide risk and compliance services to help amateur sports organizations monitor and report injuries and abuse; establish protocols to mitigate risks; and improve the overall health and safety of athletes.

In Ontario, Rowan’s Law, Bill 193 was signed into law in early 2018. It adoption as well as the changes it has brought have been gradual, as many youth sports programs still do not have the tools and resources to comply with the bill. Similarly, in Ontario, the federal and provincial governments released strongly worded statements prioritizing actions to eliminate athlete harassment and abuse over the last year; however, it will be difficult to effect real change for athletes without the proper tools.
