
Football Canada announces Women’s National Flag Team
Roster consists of 15 athletes and five reserve players that will represent Canada at the 2020 IFAF Flag Football World
Our Senior Women’s Flag National Team consists of the best female flag players from across the country, competing in international games and tournaments.
The Senior Women’s Flag National Team competes at a number of events on the international and national stages including The IFAF Flag Football World Championship (FFWC). The Flag Football World Championship is a bi-annual tournament for international 5-on-5 flag football competition featuring the top senior flag players from around the World. Canada’s Sr. Women’s Flag National Team last claimed a gold medal at this event in 2014.
In 2020, the top 24 senior women’s flag football players competed at the inaugural International Bowl Flag Championship in Arlington, Texas. The Top 24 players were selected from the 2019 Canadian Flag Football League (CFFL) National Championship. From this Top 24, fifteen players were selected to form the Sr. Women’s National Team. This team was set to represent Canada at the 2020 World Flag Championship, however, the event was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
In 2022, the University of Montreal won the Senior Women’s National Championship and earned the right to represent Canada at the 2023 Americas Championship July 5-7, 2023 in Charlotte, North Carolina.
