Football Canada Announces Senior Women’s and Men’s National Flag Football Team for 2026 IFAF Flag Football World Championships
24 men and women athletes representing Canada on the world stage, at the 2026 IFAF Flag Football World Championships taking place August 13–16 in Düsseldorf, Germany
OTTAWA, ON – Today, Football Canada announced the rosters for its Senior Women’s and Senior Men’s National Flag Football Teams, with 12 athletes named to each team to represent Canada at the 2026 IFAF Flag Football World Championships, taking place August 13–16 in Düsseldorf, Germany. Both rosters feature athletes from across Canada who have earned their place through Football Canada’s high-performance pathway, following months of national identification, evaluation, training camps and international competition.
Both teams will participate in training camp before they depart.
The IFAF Flag Football World Championships represent the highest level of international flag football competition and a defining moment on the road to the Olympic Games, where flag football will make its historic Olympic debut in 2028. As the first Olympic qualification event for LA28, both teams will compete against the world’s best in pursuit of a world championship and one of two available Olympic qualification spots for eligible men’s and women’s teams.
SENIOR WOMEN’S NATIONAL TEAM TOURNAMENT INFORMATION:
World Ranking: Entering as one of the world’s top-ranked programs, No.4 Canada’s Senior Women’s National Team will look to build on its recent international success as it competes for both a world championship and the opportunity to qualify for the LA28 Olympic Games.

Opponents: Panama (12), Japan (5), Brazil (15)
Olympic Qualification: The top two eligible nations in the women’s tournament will qualify for the LA28 Olympic Games.
