Football Canada Board Starts Transition Plan

Dear Football Canada Community,

As we set our sights on the LA 2028 Olympics and remain committed to the tradition of tackle football, we are embracing a refreshed leadership structure. Effective immediately, we are undertaking a national search to form our executive leadership team, with positions open for:

1. An Executive Director to oversee core operations, sport delivery, finance, procurement, and SafeSport initiatives.
2. A COO/Business Operations Manager to lead marketing, events, communications, and football operations.

A specialist recruiting agency with expertise in sports leadership for non-profit organizations has been engaged to facilitate this process. This search will be complemented by the oversight of two counsels from Low Murchison Radnoff LLP, ensuring a selection process that is transparent, independent, and holds integrity at its core. A universal rubric will guide candidate evaluations, with findings to be presented to the Board for the final decision. We anticipate welcoming our new team members by mid-April.

Throughout this period, the President will continue to guide the staff and maintain our service commitments to Football Canada, its national teams, and its members. The President is not seeking either posted role and is focused on supporting a smooth transition through the summer of 2024. Further, the President will aid in shifting to a Board Chairperson role by the fall of 2024. The Chairperson will be chosen by the Board of Directors aligning with the Canadian Sport Governance Code. Mr. Mullin will step down from the Presidency and the Board of Directors at that point.
