Football Canada Releases “Grow the Game we love” Strategic Plan
Ottawa, ON – After a 14-month process, Football Canada has unveiled the association’s five-year strategic plan. The 2020-2025 Football Canada Strategic Plan – a.k.a., “Grow the Game We Love” – is the result of a multi-stage consultation process which gathered feedback from member and non-member stakeholders.
Led by the Football Canada Business Development Committee, with resource assistance provided by the Canadian Football League, and input from staff, the document provides a roadmap for projects and workflows over the next five years.
One of the objectives of the Strategic Plan is a to have a document which provides a key reference as the organization progresses. The guiding statements of Vision, Mission, Core Values, and Pillars & Goals will provide points for the Board, committees and staff to reference.
The vision of being ‘recognized as the leader in the global football community’ is not only reflective of Canada’s back-to-back World Junior Champion team and the ability to host successful high-performance global competition, but also what Football Canada has to offer with developmental grass roots programming.
“One of the items we recognized through communication with other national organizations and through this process is that our programming leads the world in grass roots development for athletes, coaches and officials,” Football Canada President Jim Mullin said.
“We have opportunities to grow and support the game throughout our communities and to provide leadership in development and promotion around the world,” he said.
