by Braydon Stachel

Penonomé, Coclé Province, Panama – Team Canada’s Women’s National Flag Football Team is set to compete at the 2025 IFAF Americas Continental Championship, running from September 12–14 at Estadio Virgilio Tejeira Andrión.

Led by the International Federation of American Football (IFAF), the tournament brings together the top men’s and women’s national teams from across North, Central, and South America, and the Caribbean. It stands as one of the sport’s premier events, and an important step toward the IFAF Flag Football World Championships and the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles.

Canada enters the women’s competition fresh off their historic run at the 2025 World Games in Chengdu, China, where they claimed bronze with a 38–20 victory over Austria, their first-ever international hardware in women’s flag football. Quarterback Sara Parker led the offence with six touchdown passes in that match, while the defence delivered game-changing stops from Lauriane Beauchamp and Léa Duval to secure the win.
