Safe Contact 2.0 Now Available

by Football Canada Staff

Football Canada has updated its previous Safe Contact content that was initially made in 2014. Since that time, we have continued to learn more about safe and effective ways to coach contact skills, as well as changing attitudes toward contact in both coaches and athletes. This has resulted in improvements in the level of play of tackle football across Canada, and a reduction of avoidable injuries to our athletes.

Do I need to take SAFE CONTACT 2.0?

For starters, you’re always allowed to re-do your Safe Contact certification with your provincial sport organization at any point. If you’re curious about the new material- feel free to take it!

The original Safe Contact needs to be renewed after 5 years from when you took it last. If you’re unsure, log onto The Locker and check your certification under Profile > History.

See the chart for an easy walkthrough of your options.
