BUFFALO, NY – Team Canada’s Women’s National Flag Team will take on Team USA in an eight-minute exhibition during halftime of the Buffalo Bills’ game against the New England Patriots on Sunday, October 5 at Highmark Stadium.

For the first time, international women’s flag football teams will meet on an NFL field, competing in front of a national audience. This historic international opportunity comes as flag football prepares to debut at the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games.

“Team Canada is so excited to take the field at the Bills Halftime”, said Team Canada QB Sara Parker. “The NFL stage gives us the chance to highlight the sport of flag football, display the skills of our athletes, and inspire girls everywhere by showing them that they can play football too”

For Team Canada, the game builds on recent successes, including a bronze medal at the 2025 World Games in China and a silver medal at the 2025 IFAF Continental Championships in Panama. This historic international opportunity gives Team Canada valuable experience against a top rival and a rare chance to compete on one of football’s biggest stages.

“We are deeply honored and grateful to the Buffalo Bills for this incredible opportunity,” said Head Coach Rachel Lessard. “Playing under the stadium lights, stepping on this famous field in front of such a passionate crowd, will be a moment our athletes will cherish forever. It’s more than a game, it’s a symbol of unity, respect, and the shared love of sport between our nations.”

“I would like to thank the Bills organization for bringing this to life and for putting together an amazing weekend for our athletes.  This event highlights not only the dedication and commitment of our athletes, but also the work of our entire community in building the sport of flag football around the world,” said Football Canada Executive Director Kevin McDonald. “The growth of the game has been remarkable, and this showcase is another milestone as we continue to elevate flag football on the road to the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics.”
