DIRECTOR, CORPORATE PARTNERSHIPS & REVENUE

Football Canada is seeking a strategic and commercially driven Director, Corporate Partnerships & Revenue to lead the organization’s revenue generation and partnership strategy.

Reporting to the CEO, this role is responsible for developing and executing national sponsorship and corporate partnership initiatives, cultivating new business opportunities, and growing a diversified revenue portfolio. The Director will build strong relationships with corporate partners, create compelling partnership opportunities, and position Football Canada as a leading national sport organization for commercial investment.

The Director, Corporate Partnerships & Revenue, mandate spans five core areas:

Corporate Partnerships & Sponsorship Sales 

  • Lead national corporate partnership and sponsorship sales to drive revenue growth and expand Football Canada’s commercial portfolio.
  • Develop compelling partnership proposals, asset packages, and value propositions tailored to prospective partners.
  • Identify, cultivate, and convert new business opportunities through proactive outreach, networking, and relationship management.
  • Manage the full sales cycle including prospecting, pitch development, negotiations, contracting, and handoff to activation.
  • Maintain a disciplined sales pipeline and reporting process, tracking progress, conversion, renewals, and revenue forecasting.

Partnership Strategy & Asset Development

  • Develop Football Canada’s national commercial strategy, including partnership platform elements aligned to brand, programs, events, and national teams.
  • Identify and package new commercial assets, inventory, and value-added benefits in collaboration with internal teams.
  • Monitor sponsorship and sport industry trends to inform partnership innovation, benchmarking, and best practices.
  • Ensure commercial strategy aligns to Football Canada’s strategic plan, values, and brand positioning.

Partner Servicing & Revenue Retention

  • Oversee partner onboarding, agreements, activation planning, and fulfilment to ensure strong partner value, satisfaction, and renewal potential.
  • Maintain strong partner relationships with regular touchpoints, reporting, and account management practices.
  • Work with internal teams to deliver contractual obligations, collaborate on co-branded initiatives, and evaluate performance.

Cross-Organizational Collaboration & Representation

  • Represent Football Canada professionally with corporate partners, agencies, vendors, and key external stakeholders.
  • Ensure alignment between commercial activities and organizational priorities across programs, events, national teams, and community growth initiatives.

Merchandise & Licensing Revenue

  • Develop and lead Football Canada’s national merchandise and licensing strategy, identifying revenue opportunities across retail, e-commerce, and event merchandising.
  • Negotiate and manage licensing agreements with apparel, equipment, and consumer product partners, ensuring brand alignment, royalty terms, and contractual compliance.
  • Oversee the merchandise product pipeline, from concept and approval through supplier and manufacturer coordination, ensuring quality and brand consistency across all licensed goods.
  • Identify and evaluate new licensing categories and retail or e-commerce partnerships that extend the Football Canada brand and grow non-sponsorship revenue.
  • Monitor merchandise and licensing performance, tracking sales, royalties, and margin to inform pricing, assortment, and partner renewal decisions.

Who you are

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, commerce, sport management, marketing, communications, or a related field 
  • 10-12 years of progressive experience in corporate partnerships, sponsorship sales, business development, or commercial revenue growth roles, with a demonstrated ability to drive results.
  • A proven track record of securing and renewing multi-year corporate partnerships and sponsorship agreements with regional or national brands.
  • Strong experience engaging with senior executives, agencies, brands, and rights-holders to negotiate commercial agreements and develop impactful partnership programs.
  • Experience developing and selling partnership assets across multiple platforms, including events, digital content, broadcast/streaming, community programs, and high-performance sport properties.
  • Experience within the sport, entertainment, events, media, or agency sectors, with direct accountability for revenue generation and commercial growth.
  • Bilingualism (English/French) is an asset, to effectively support Football Canada’s national stakeholders, partners, and clientele across Canada.
  • Skilled in structuring, negotiating, and closing commercial partnership agreements with senior corporate stakeholders.
  • Ability to create, price, and evolve partnership assets, rights, and activation packages based on market demand and brand alignment.
  • Strong discipline in revenue forecasting, pipeline management, conversion metrics, and reporting.
  • Credibility and confidence to engage C-suite leaders, boards, agencies, and high-profile partners.
  • Ability to assess partnership value, measure return on investment, and make data-informed recommendations.
  • Keen understanding of brand integrity, partner fit, and reputational risk when securing and activating partnerships.
  • Ability to collaborate across internal functions (programs, HP, events, communications, finance) to deliver partnership commitments.
  • Strong planning capability with the ability to translate strategy into actionable, measurable commercial outcomes.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills with the ability to pitch compelling narratives tailored to different audiences.

Location

The position is remotely based within Canada, with a preference for candidates located in the Greater Toronto Area. Regular national and international travel will be required.
