Our national under-18 women’s tackle football tournament, with provincial teams competing against each other for the national championship.
Established in 2022, the U18 Women’s National Championship will annually showcase the top under-18 football players from across the country.
Although the structure of the event will evolve over the years, the objective will always be to promote the game of football to Canada’s youth; encourage individuals to participate in football at a high level of competition and to instill a lifelong commitment to fitness, fair-play, and fun through recreational and organized games of football.
The inaugural U18 Women’s Tackle National Championships were played July 3 to 9, 2022 in Regina, SK and used a 6-a-side format with mini-games through the round robin, followed with full length games during the medal rounds.
The second edition of the U18 Women’s Tackle National Championship featured seven provincial teams and the National Indigenous Team in Ottawa, ON, from July 23 to 29, 2023 and were full length 6-a-side games throughout the entire tournament.
The third edition of the U18 Women’s Tackle National Championship took place in Fredericton, NB with games played on July 22, 25, and 28 in 2024.
