Game Day: The 2024 U16 Eastern Regional Challenge Begins in Antigonish
Antigonish, NS – July 18, 2024 – Football Canada is excited to bring you the opening game day of the 2024 U16 Eastern Regional Challenge at Oland Stadium in Antigonish, Nova Scotia. Future stars from Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Québec, and Ontario are set to showcase their talents and compete for regional pride and the title of U16 Eastern Regional Challenge Champion.
Game Day Schedule:
July 18th, 2024:
- 2:30 PM ADT – Game 1: Québec vs. New Brunswick
- Québec, the reigning champion, aims to secure its fifth consecutive gold medal, having dominated the competition in recent years. New Brunswick, eager to challenge the champions, brings a team hungry for victory and ready to make their mark.
- 7:30 PM ADT – Game 2: Ontario vs. Nova Scotia
- Ontario, a frequent face in the medal round, takes on the host province, Nova Scotia, who will be leveraging the hometown energy and familiarity with the venue
Canadian football fans who cannot attend in person can catch all the action live on Football Canada’s YouTube channel HERE, where all games will be streamed for free.
The U16 Eastern Challenge is an integral part of Football Canada’s development pathway, providing young athletes with the opportunity to compete in a tournament setting as they prepare for higher levels of competition, including the under-18 national tackle football championship and national team events. This year, Quebec is striving to win its 5th consecutive gold medal, having secured the top prize in the last four editions of the tournament (2018, 2019, 2022, 2023).
