Football Canada Welcomes Guest Coaches to Men’s National Flag Football Selection Camp

by FBC

Football Canada is pleased to announce the guest coaches who will be joining its Men’s National Flag Football Selection Camp in Winnipeg this weekend.

As part of its ongoing commitment to coach development, Football Canada continues to create opportunities for provincial coaches from across the country to engage directly with National Team staff. The initiative provides hands-on experience and collaboration at the high-performance level, supporting the growth of flag football nationwide.

This year’s guest coaches include:

  • Jeff Stedd (Football Alberta) – Head Coach of Team Alberta’s U19 men’s provincial team, with over a decade of coaching experience across multiple levels of flag football in the Edmonton area.
  • Trysten Dyce (Football Manitoba) – Coach with the Built Different women’s flag football development program and a decorated player, including Offensive MVP honours at both the U18 and CFFL national championships.
  • John Makie (Football Manitoba) – President of the Fort Garry Lions Football Club, with four years of coaching experience across multiple age groups in Winnipeg’s flag football community.

Also joining the staff is Jon Franklin, Head Coach of Canada’s U15 Men’s National Team and founder of the PIT Football touch and flag league in Winnipeg, one of the largest programs of its kind in the country.

The Selection Camp runs this weekend at Princess Auto Stadium, bringing together top male athletes from across Canada as they compete for an opportunity to advance within the National Team pathway.
