The Saskatoon Hilltops are invincible!

With Sunday’s 36-24 win over the Regina Thunder, the Saskatoon Hilltops won an unprecedented fourth Prairie Football Conference (PFC) Championship.

It was also the Hilltops eleventh consecutive postseason victory.

Moving on to the Canadian Junior Football League (CJFL) semi-final, the Hilltops will face the British Columbia Football Conference (BCFC) champions – the highly motivated Vancouver Island Raiders.

The Raiders pulled off a major upset as the team upended the Westshore Rebels 21-7 in the Cullen Cup Final.

In the PFC Championship, Football Canada alum Adam Machart (2016 U19 National Team) was called upon to take the offensive load after running back Logan Fischer was unable to play in the championship game due to injury.

Machart rose to the occasion as he played a significant role in the Hilltops victory as he got the team on the scoreboard in the first, dashing down the field for a 49-yard major.  Additionally, he amassed 206 rushing yards on 26 carries.

Receiver Jason Price (2016 U19 National Team) racked up 29 yards on three receptions.

Another Football Canada alum also had a notable performance in the victory.  Cody Peters (2016 U19 National Team) registered five solo and six assisted tackles.

The national semi-finals between the Hilltops and Raiders will be on Sunday October 29th, 2017 at 1:00pm in Saskatoon.  The team that emerges victorious from the semi-final will square off against the champion of the Ontario Football Conference (OFC) in Ontario on November 11th 2017.

In the OFC, the Hamilton Hurricanes dismantled the London Beefeaters 44-7 in one semi-final. In the other, Windsor AKO Fratmen cruised to a 42-14 victory over the Ottawa Sooners. The Fratmen will host the Hurricanes in the OFC Championship Final at Alumni Field in Windsor on Sunday October 29th.
