Next Generation of Canadian Flag Talent Shines in Kingston
Football Canada’s 2026 Elite Flag Nationals wrapped up this weekend at Richardson Stadium on the campus of Queen’s University in Kingston, bringing together nearly 700 athletes from across the country for three days of competition and showcasing the continued growth of flag football in Canada.
Hosted in partnership with Football Ontario, the event featured provincial teams competing across U14, U16, U18, and U19 divisions in both boys’ and girls’ categories, as athletes represented their provinces on one of the country’s premier youth flag football stages.
Championship action throughout the weekend highlighted the depth of talent across the country, with athletes competing for national titles and provincial pride.

Following the tournament, 200 selected athletes were invited to participate in Junior National Team Selection Camp, providing an opportunity to continue within Football Canada’s national team pathway. Athletes selected to the Junior National Teams will travel to Chula Vista alongside Football Canada’s Senior Men’s and Women’s National Flag Football Teams as part of their continued development within Football Canada’s high-performance system.
As flag football builds toward its Olympic debut at the Los Angeles 2028 Summer Olympic Games, Elite Flag Nationals continue to play an important role in developing the next generation of Canadian talent.
