Team Canada Set to Compete in 2024 IFAF Flag Football World Championship, Tournament Schedule Released

IFAF has announced Team Canada’s schedule for the highly anticipated 2024 IFAF World Championship of Flag Football, set to take place from August 27-30 at the Pajulahti Olympic Center in Finland. The 11th biennial IFAF World Championship of Flag Football will be the largest and most significant in the sport’s history, featuring 660 athletes from 32 nations. The tournament will showcase the world’s best flag football talent, with teams vying for gold medals and, in the women’s division, qualification spots for the 2025 World Games in Chengdu. This year’s tournament represents the first major international tournament on the road to the historic Olympic debut of Flag Football,

Team Canada’s Schedule

Men’s Team (Group E)

  • Canada vs. Italy – Tuesday, August 27th, 11:45 AM
  • Canada vs. Singapore – Tuesday, August 27th, 6:00 PM
  • Canada vs. Finland – Wednesday, August 28th, 11:45 AM

Women’s Team (Group B)

  • Canada vs. Italy – Tuesday, August 27th, 1:00 PM
  • Canada vs. South Korea – Tuesday, August 27th, 6:00 PM
  • Canada vs. Denmark – Wednesday, August 28th, 9:15 AM
  • Canada vs. Mexico – Wednesday, August 28th, 2:15 PM

All times are local.

Following the group stages, teams will advance to the Round of 16 knockout bracket. In the women’s tournament, the top seven teams will earn qualification for the 2025 World Games in Chengdu, China, another important milestone on the path to the Olympics.

All matches will be streamed live on IFAF.TV, allowing fans across Canada and around the world to follow Team Canada’s journey throughout the tournament.

The group stages will take place at the Pajulahti Olympic Center on August 27 and 28, with knockout rounds following on August 29 and 30. The medal games will be hosted at the Lahti Sports Center, with the men’s final scheduled for August 30 at 7:15 PM, followed by the women’s title game at 8:30 PM.
