“It’s exciting to think that this is really just the beginning of the growth of flag football in Canada and the talent is going to just keep getting better and better as more people make flag football their main sport,” said Katie Miyazaki, Football Canada’s Director of High Performance. “We have a great combination of flag football experience, high performance athletes from other sports, and young talent that is going to set us up for success.”
“Despite far from ideal weather conditions, the athletes demonstrated resilience, team spirit, and passion that perfectly embody the values of our national program,” said Head Coach Rachel Lessard. “Their determination, energy, and positive attitude made our selection camp a truly memorable success. Thank you for traveling from all corners of the country to represent the best of Canadian flag football. No matter what comes next, know that you are helping to shine a light on this sport, and your efforts are not going unnoticed. You are actively contributing to building the future of flag football in Canada.”
The Senior Women’s National Flag team will now prepare for competition at the International Bowl from June 21st to 22nd before turning attention to a busy international schedule throughout 2025.
