Team Canada Ready to Take on the World at The World Games in Chengdu, China
Chengdu, China – Team Canada’s Women’s National Flag Football Team is set to compete at the 2025 World Games, bringing their passion, preparation, and pride to the international stage. This marks a historic milestone for the programme, with Canada opening the tournament against Team USA.
Head Coach Rachel Lessard shared her thoughts ahead of the competition:
“Our team is honoured to represent on such a prestigious international stage. The preparation has been intense, and the commitment from every player has been exceptional. As we head into the event, we’re feeling focused, united, and ready to compete at the highest level. The anticipation is high, but so is our determination to perform and make our country proud.”
Offensive Coordinator Alexandre Desjardins echoed that confidence:
“I truly believe we’re ready. We’re sharp; our athletes play fast, make smart decisions, and never miss a chance to make a big play. For the first time, it’s a true national programme representing Canada, and you have no idea how exciting that is for us!”
