CANADA’S FOOTBALL IS “THE ROUGE”

AREA 51 SPORTS AND FOOTBALL CANADA LAUNCH THE OFFICIAL COMPOSITE CANADIAN FOOTBALL FOR ALL AGES

TORONTO & VANCOUVER – Area 51 Sports, a Canadian minority-owned team sports company, and Football Canada, the national sport organization for amateur football in the country, are proud to announce their collaboration in creating the first-of-its-kind Canadian composite football, “The Rouge.” This new composite ball has been officially designated as the official composite football of Football Canada.

The partnership between Area 51 Sports and Football Canada aims to elevate the sport by offering a uniquely designed football that celebrates Canadian heritage and supports the development of the sport nationwide.

“The Canadian military has an interwoven history with our sport,” said Jim Mullin, President of Football Canada. “The first game of record in Montreal in the 1860s featured McGill students and a regiment. Our first national teams were military teams who played in the UK during the Second World War against the US in front of crowds of 30,000 and 50,000.”

“The Rouge” pays homage to this rich history by featuring design elements inspired by the Canadian military’s contributions to football and the country’s sporting legacy. The ball’s branding reflects the shared values of strength, resilience, and unity that have defined Canadian football for generations.

“The fact that a share of the profits of a Canadian-specific ball will be reinvested into the development of football nationally is huge for the sport,” added Mullin. “We are excited to partner with Area 51 Sports on this initiative, which will have a lasting impact on the growth and success of football in Canada.”
