Football Canada to premiere new programs at Vanier Cup Football Fest and Grey Cup Festival
November is set to be a championship month and Football Canada wants you to be part of the excitement!
In conjunction with the Ontario Football Alliance (OFA), Football Canada is staging the Vanier Cup Football Fest on Saturday November 24th from 6:30pm to 9:30pm at Tim Horton’s Field in Hamilton, Ontario.
There will be three programs available for participants to register for the Fest. From 6:30-7:30pm, First Down will take place. Overall, the goal of the program sessions is to provide children under the age of eight an opportunity to develop fundamental movement skills while having fun. Moreover, the First Down program allows an avenue for children to further their participation in either the sport or any physical activity.
It is a coed event for children ages 4-7. Registration fees are $25.00 which includes a FREE ticket to the USports 53rd Vanier Cup upon sign up.
From 6:30-7:30pm, the Player Development Program will be offered. These sessions are designed to help youth develop football specific skills through games, activities and drills. Like the First Down program, the Player Development curriculum promotes getting active while having fun.
Once again, this is a coed event but, it is for ages 8-13. The registration fee is also $25.00 and includes a FREE ticket to the USports 53rd Vanier Cup.
To conclude the night’s events is Ultimate Football. It runs from 7:30-8:45pm and it is a FREE drop in for ages 8-15. In this mixture of ultimate Frisbee and non-contact football, the program is designed to be fun and fast paced.
Ultimate Football promotes getting more participants involved in the sport, as non-contact football can be easily learned and played as well as being a low-cost activity.
On November 24th from 10:00am-2:00pm, Football Canada will also be hosting DROP IN events at the Grey Cup Football Fest at TD Place in Ottawa, Ontario. At the Fest, First Down and Ultimate Football programs will be offered.
