Football Canada’s Women’s U18 Championship returns July 21-29, 2023
Football Canada is set to host the second edition of the National Women’s Under-18 Championship in Ottawa, ON, this July 21st to 29th, 2023. Following a successful inaugural tournament in Regina last year, Football Canada looks forward to bringing this key opportunity to grow tackle football for women and girls to the nation’s capital.
As important as the skills they will present on the field, and adding to their experience, athletes will get to showcase their mettle at the iconic stadium at TD Place, home of the Ottawa REDBLACKS of the Canadian Football League, the annual U SPORTS Panda Game rivalry between the two local university programs, and a beacon of football history in the region. The stadium at TD Place will host the second day of competition, while the other games will be played at Carleton University.
This year’s competition will feature seeding games on Sunday, July 23rd, following which teams will be split into two pools of four. The second game day of the week, to be played on Wednesday, July 26th, will feature pool semi-finals. The championship will conclude by crowning champions in each pool on Saturday, July 29th.
As confirmed earlier in March, seven provincial teams and the first National Indigenous Team will star in this second edition of the Women’s U18 Tackle National Championship.
