Football Manitoba set to host the U16 West Regional Challenge in Winnipeg from June 30th to July 5th
Winnipeg, MB – Football Manitoba is proud to host the 2025 U16 Western Regional Challenge in Winnipeg from June 30th to July 5th, bringing together top young talent from across Western Canada. This premier regional event will feature Under-16 (U16) teams from British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba in a week-long showcase of skill, sportsmanship, and regional pride.
Following Saskatchewan’s hard-fought 18–15 win over Alberta in the 2024 gold medal game — their fourth consecutive championship — all eyes are on this year’s competition as rival provinces look to disrupt the reigning dynasty.
The U16 Western Challenge provides young athletes with their first experience of tournament-style football in a competitive yet supportive environment. Off the field, participants benefit from leadership development, team-building, and cultural exchange that reflect the core values of Canadian football.
The final standings from the 2024 Challenge were:
- Saskatchewan
- Alberta
- British Columbia
- Manitoba
