Six Canadians Recognized Among NCAA Football’s Best for 2024 Season

Ottawa, ON — Football Canada proudly extends its heartfelt congratulations to the exceptional Canadian athletes who have been recognized with NCAA All-Conference honours for the 2024 football season. These athletes have showcased outstanding talent, dedication, and sportsmanship, making significant contributions to their respective teams and elevating the profile of Canada’s football prowess on one of the toughest stages:

First-Team All-Big Sky Fullback/Tight End: Rohan Jones

Rohan Jones, hailing from Montreal, Quebec, has been a pivotal player for the Montana State. In the 2024 season, he appeared in all 11 games, recording nine receptions for 123 yards and two touchdowns. His versatility and consistent performance have been instrumental in the team’s offence.

Second-Team All-Big Ten Quarterback: Kurtis Rourke

Kurtis Rourke, originally from Oakville, Ontario, has made a significant impact as the starting quarterback for the Indiana Hoosiers. His performance has placed him among the contenders for the Heisman Trophy.

Second-Team All-ACC Wide Receiver: Elic Ayomanor

Medicine Hat, Alberta’s own Elic Ayomanor has been a standout wide receiver for Stanford University. In the 2023 season, he recorded 62 receptions for 1,013 yards and six touchdowns, earning the Jon Cornish Trophy as the top Canadian player in the NCAA. His remarkable performance against Colorado, where he set a school record with 294 receiving yards, highlights his exceptional talent.

Second-Team All-Big Sky Wide Receiver: Keelan White

Hailing from North Vancouver, Keelan White has demonstrated outstanding abilities as a wide receiver at the University of Montana, contributing significantly to the team’s offensive success. His precise route-running and reliable hands have made him a key player in the Big Sky Conference.

Third-Team All-Big Ten Linebacker: Dariel Djabome

Dariel Djabome has been a formidable presence on defence for Rutgers University. The St. Catharines, ON native’s athleticism and tactical awareness have been crucial in anchoring the team’s defence, earning him well-deserved recognition in the Big Ten Conference.

Third-Team All-AAC Linebacker: Jaylen Smith

Jaylen Smith’s contributions to the University of North Texas as a linebacker have been vital to his team’s defensive strategies. The Hamilton, ON native set the standard for agility and defensive acumen, distinguishing him as a standout player in the American Athletic Conference.
