What’s on the line at these championships? A National Championship and a spot in the National Team Talent Pool for the athletes.

Athletes will be showcasing their talent all weekend long, showing they have what it takes to perform at the highest level and showing the rest of the country why they should be representing Canada in the future.

Six men’s teams will battle it out all weekend long, with 2022 Champions and consistent Finalists, Braves de Montreal, looking to bring the National title back to Quebec.  Their local rivals, the Party Crashers, will look for revenge from league play to take out the Braves on the National stage. A team with plenty of winning experience, the Winnipeg Rebellion, will look to get Manitoba back on top of the podium for the first time since 2019. The youngest team of the tournament, the BC Gators, will be making their first appearance at Senior Flag Nationals after earning their way with a 2nd place finish at the inaugural BCAFFL Provincials. Joining them from BC will be Vancity Vice, who has been getting in extra practice in 5v5 across the border to prepare for this tournament. Rounding out the teams will be Team Alberta, who be looking to make their mark at their first Senior Flag Nationals.

On the Women’s side, eight teams from across the country will be descending on Kamloops to battle it out. Cayenne boasts many athletes with plenty of experience at this tournament and on the international stage, but many strong teams round out the pools. EZ-E won the inaugural BCAFFL league championship for the chance to be Team BC and draw on years of flag football experience across various formats. Runner-ups West Coast Reign will be looking to draw from the experience of their athletes who represented BC over the past two years at 5v5 Nationals and using their chemistry from playing multiple years together in 7v7. MVP Sniper brings a talented squad, with a few who gave all-star performances in May at the Collegiate Championships. Speaking of All-Stars, the Monarchs also have a few all-stars from the Collegiate Championships and know how to make championship-level plays. Regina brings a squad with plenty of young talent who are quickly gaining experience and recognition on the National Stage with their attendance yearly at the Senior Nationals and Collegiate Championships. Sweet Heat and BC Storm are both new to the National stage but looking to make their mark and fly under the radar while looking to pull off some upsets.

New champions will be crowned this year as both last year’s champions focus their training and preparation on the World Championships August 27-31,2024 in Finland.
