CALGARY, AB – Football Alberta, in partnership with Tourism Calgary, is set to host the 2025 Women’s U18 National Tackle Championship from July 18–26, 2025, bringing together the country’s top under-18 female football athletes for a week of competition, regional pride, and national exposure.
Now entering its fourth year, the Women’s U18 National Tackle Championship has firmly established itself as the premier showcase for female tackle football in Canada. Since its launch in 2022, the tournament has become a cornerstone of Football Canada’s high-performance calendar, uniting provinces, inspiring young women, and accelerating the sport’s growth nationwide.
The 2024 edition saw Ontario Red claim the championship with a decisive 25–8 win over defending champions Alberta. The tournament also continued its tradition of inclusive representation with the participation of the Women’s U18 National Indigenous Team, whose presence and viral moments captivated audiences across the country, becoming one of the defining stories of this event’s legacy.
“We’re proud to partner with Football Alberta, Tourism Calgary and our long-standing partner NFL Canada to bring this event to Calgary and are grateful for their leadership in creating a first-class experience for athletes, coaches, and fans” said Kevin McDonald, Executive Director of Football Canada. “Each year, this championship shines a light on the dedication and passion of these athletes and helps set the tone for the future of women’s football in Canada.”
