WOMEN’S NATIONAL TEAM SELECTION CAMP HELD IN SASKATOON

Saskatoon, Saskatchewan –This past Saturday, March 13, Football Saskatchewan hosted the first of two Regional Women’s National Team Selection Camps.

The western camp was held to identify and evaluate players that will be asked to attend a final camp leading up  to  the Women’s World tackle Football Championship to be held in Stockholm, Sweden , June 27th – July 3rd.

Thirty two women representing Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Alberta attended the camp that consisted of a day of physical testing and on field skill testing.

“The players exceeded our expectations and you can tell they came prepared” commented Head Coach Larry Harlow. “The training schedule began this past fall and you can tell they followed the program.”

The eastern selection camp will be held on March 21st in Gagetown, New Brunswick.
