National competition dates and sites confirmed
OTTAWA – Football Canada announced several updates to the schedule for its 2022 domestic championships. The 2022 events mark a return to national championship competition for football after an enforced two-year absence due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
First, the first-ever Collegiate Flag Football Championship has been set for May 6-7 in Ottawa, at Carleton University. Ottawa will also host the Canadian Flag Football League national championship, with the event scheduled to run from August 5 to 7.
In tackle football, the Western Challenge (U-16 Boys) will be held in Langley, B.C. from July 1-7, with games set for July 3 and 6. Meanwhile, the date for the Women’s U-18 Championship has been changed. The inaugural event, which is still being held in Regina, will now take place from July 1-9, with games on July 3, 6 and 9.
