Football Canada Unveils 2025 Junior Football Events Calendar
Ottawa, ON – Football Canada is proud to announce the 2025 lineup of junior football events, featuring the best amateur football talent Canada has to offer from coast to coast. This year’s calendar promises high-energy competition, opportunities for athlete development, and celebrations of the sport’s growing popularity at every level.
Events Schedule:

Canada’s premier pre-university tackle football championship, the FCC showcases the country’s top Under-18 talent. Since its inception in 1995, the tournament has served as a cornerstone for athlete development, combining high-performance competition with the opportunity to represent provincial pride.
In 2024, Ontario claimed their first FCC title in a decade, defeating Québec 45-7 in a dominant performance. This year, Football Nova Scotia will host the event at St. FX University, where the nation’s best young athletes will compete for glory while continuing to raise the standard of excellence in Canadian football.
Women’s U18 National Tackle Championship

Canada’s premier under-18 women’s tackle football championship, the Women’s U18 National Tackle Championship, highlights the dedication, talent, and passion of young female athletes across the country. Since its establishment in 2022, the tournament has become a cornerstone of women’s football, providing a stage for elite competition while promoting growth, sportsmanship, and athletic excellence.
The 2024 championship saw Ontario Red dethrone defending champions Alberta with a 25-8 victory. The tournament’s continued growth underscores the importance and excitement surrounding women’s football and its bright future in

The Elite Flag Nationals represent the pinnacle of amateur youth flag football competition in Canada, bringing together provincial teams across four age divisions. Established in 2007, this tournament has grown into a showcase of elite talent, serving as a key stepping stone for athletes on their journey to national teams and, eventually, Olympic participation. Last year saw 6 different provinces bring home medals across different age categories.

The U16 Regional Challenges set the stage for young athletes and coaches to experience tournament-style football while competing against neighbouring provinces. These events focus on player and coach development, with an emphasis on teamwork, sportsmanship, and skill-building in a competitive environment.
Last year, Saskatchewan dominated the West Challenge with a commanding 24-0 victory in the gold medal game, securing their fourth consecutive title. Meanwhile, Québec extended their reign in the East Challenge, earning their fifth straight championship with a hard-fought 18-15 win over Ontario.

The Club Flag Nationals, introduced in 2024, marked an exciting new chapter for Football Canada’s flag football landscape. This championship provides club teams from across the country the opportunity to compete for a national title in the U14, U16, U18, and U19 age divisions, expanding opportunities for athletes and teams outside of provincial programming.
In 2024, the competition highlighted the strength of programs nationwide, with Québec capturing multiple titles and Saskatchewan’s U16 women’s team taking gold. This year, Brampton will once again set the stage for thrilling matchups as flag football continues to expand as one of the fastest-growing sports in North America.
