20 year NCAA coaching veteran Jamie Barresi to present in Saskatoon

Football Canada is proud to announce the addition of former CFL, NCAA and current University of Ottawa head coach, Jamie Barresi to its 2014 Coaches Convention line-up, July 11 in Saskatoon.
Barresi who spent 20 years coaching in the NCAA including at Penn State, Wake Forest and Florida followed by 9 in the CFL will draw on his experience when he speaks on the quarterback position.
Barresi played four years as quarterback for the Gee-Gees, from 1976-1979, including a trip to the national semi-final in ‘76. In his fifth year, he decided to help coach the Gee-Gees and later moved on to finish his eligibility at the University of Guelph. After finishing up his football career at Guelph, Barresi came back to the University of Ottawa as an assistant coach for two more years.
His coaching career sky-rocketed from that point as he moved into a graduate assistant coaching role at Penn State. In his first year there, the Lions made it to the National Championship Game.  He went on to spend a total of twenty seasons coaching in the NCAA at notable football programs such as Florida and Wake Forest, before returning to Canada.
Joining the CFL as an offensive coordinator in 2004, Barresi started his Canadian Football coaching career in his hometown of Hamilton, Ont. for the Tiger-Cats. Since then he has coached on the offensive side of the ball for the B.C. Lions, Saskatchewan Roughriders, and the Winnipeg Blue Bombers where he guided the team to a 2011 Grey Cup appearance as the offensive coordinator.
He comes to uOttawa from the Edmonton Eskimos, where he served as the run game coordinator this past season.
In his first season in Ottawa, he guided the Gee-Gees to an OUA playoff berth following a regular season record of 5-3.
