Coach Mike Circelli Named Gino Fracas Award Winner

November 25th, 2022 – Coach Mike Circelli has had a profound impact upon the Lancers football program both on and off the field.  On the field, Circelli is a role model to the many young coaches on the Lancer staff offering wisdom for specific scenarios over his many years of experience at a variety of levels.  He plans and runs defensive front meetings, analyzes film, and prepares scouting reports and tests for the defensive line.  Off the field, Circelli donates his time and any honorarium he receives back to the program.  He is currently heading up the locker room revitalization project encompassing fundraising, design, and carpentry skills to update where the Lancers study, socialize, and prepare for training and competition. 

Each season, Circelli ensures that he purchases a piece of equipment needed by the program for further player development.  This season he has generously purchased the Rae Crawther two man pan sled.  Circelli also assists with any injuries by driving players to London or Strathroy for surgeries and other medical appointments and procedures.  Additionally, Circelli still lives in London and commutes to and from the city twice a week when in-season, and weekly in the off-season.

Coach Mike Circelli has been involved in Ontario Football since 1983 and has coached at every level outside of the professional ranks.  His goal has always been and remains today to provide the best possible football experience for players, so that one day they will want to give back in some capacity whether it be coaching, officiating or administration for our great game of football.

Circelli has been serving the Ontario football community for the past 40 years.  There are currently five head coaches in the OUA who Mike has directly coached or coached with at various levels. We Sincerely want to thank Mike Circelli for his contribution to the sport of Football and also for the many lives he has touched over the years.
