FOOTBALL CANADA ANNOUNCES SCHEDULE FOR 2024 COLLEGIATE FLAG CHAMPIONSHIP
Football Canada is excited to welcome fans to the picturesque Riverside Park in Montréal, Québec, for the 2024 Canadian Collegiate Flag Football Championship. From May 3rd to May 5th, watch as Canada’s best women’s collegiate Flag Football athletes battle it out for national glory.
This year’s championship builds on the momentum of the past CCFFC tournaments, featuring elite women’s teams from across the country. The action kicks off on Friday, May 3, beginning with the back-to-back champions, the Université de Montréal facing off against Western University. The competition will continue through the weekend, culminating in the championship game on Sunday at 1:00 PM EST.
This year’s lineup of 16 teams includes returning champions and notable challengers from Université de Montréal, Université Concordia, UQAM, Université de Sherbrooke, Western University, UQTR, University of Regina (with two teams: Green and Yellow), University of Saskatchewan, University of Guelph, University of Toronto, Champlain College, Cégep de Saint-Laurent, Cégep de l’Outaouais, Collège Montmorency, and Collège Ahuntsic.
Kevin McDonald, Interim Managing Director of Football Canada, shared his enthusiasm: “Alongside our partners at Football Quebec, we are excited to welcome the 16 best Flag Football programs to Montréal for the 2024 Canadian Collegiate Flag Football Championship. Each year Football Canada has the privilege of showcasing the very best our sport has to offer from across our nation, and each year, we’ve seen our athletes set the bar higher and higher, not only fostering competitive excellence but also championing the growth of the sport.”
Steve Duchesneau, Executive Director of Football Québec echoed his sentiments: “It is a renewed privilege to host such a highly competitive event on Québec’s territory. We sincerely hope that the 16 participating teams will receive robust support from a substantial audience, and we aim for this significant competition to inspire young flag players across our entire territory.”
