Football Canada Seeking Head Coach for Senior Men’s Flag National Team
Football Canada is on the hunt for an experienced and driven Head Coach to lead the Senior Men’s Flag National Team to international success. With the inclusion of flag football in the LA 2028 Olympic Games, this role presents a unique and exciting opportunity to shape the future of the sport on the world stage.
About the Role
The Head Coach will work under the direction of Football Canada’s High-Performance Director to prepare and develop the Men’s Flag National Team. This includes guiding the team’s technical and tactical development, performance analysis, athlete recruitment, and long-term program success.
The ultimate goal is to build a high-performance program that fosters excellence at international events such as the Continental Championships, World Championships, World Games, and the Olympics.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a high-performance program in alignment with Football Canada’s strategic goals.
- Identify and recruit top athletes to represent Canada on the international stage.
- Utilize video analysis and statistical data to enhance team performance.
- Foster a high-performance culture and provide mentorship to assistant coaches and support staff.
- Serve as the team’s head coach during international competitions, ensuring the highest levels of performance.
Qualifications
- Proven experience coaching at an elite level, including national, international, or high-level club teams.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Experience coaching in international competitions is highly desirable.
- National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP) Competition Development Certification in Football (or a plan to obtain certification).
- Commitment to athlete welfare, inclusivity, and safe sport principles.
